“We all came from different walks of life.”
However, most of us worked at one point as consultants at Adfinitas, an agency specializing in fundraising from the general public for non-profit organizations.
In 2012, during the time that we worked for this agency, we created iRaiser, an online fundraising platform for charities. We noticed that the online donation forms used by charities were too long, which discouraged potential donors to make a donation.
“We carried out digital campaigns which brought a lot of visitors to our clients’ websites but once they arrived on the ‘I donate’ page, they had a hard time converting to donations.”
Karine Sence
Online donation forms needed to be optimized to allow NGOs of all sizes to collect more donations.
When launching our solution, we had three objectives:
To simplify the life of fundraisers within NGOs, to increase the conversion rate and the average donation, and to improve donor satisfaction. To do this, we had to overcome many challenges: adapting to the tax specificities of each country and different payment methods, managing the technical complexities of processing large volumes of donations (such as during events, holidays, or times of humanitarian emergencies), and of course, securing the thousands of donations that pass through our platforms every day.
Faced with the success of our spin-off, we quickly realised that we needed to create an entity dedicated solely to online donation collection.
We recruited a scientist who is today our CEO, and this is how the first version of iRaiser was born, as an ultra-secure turnkey solution to allow NGOs to raise donations online effortlessly.
Our first clients were the agency’s clients.
Followed by other large French NGOs such as Médecins sans Frontières. We also prospected in Belgium and Switzerland and started working with other large NGOs such as Chaîne du Bonheur, Unicef, Médecins du Monde, etc. By merging a few years later with our Danish and Dutch competitors, we strengthened our presence in Europe, and also diversified our product range.
Today we have more than eight hundred and fifty customer associations across Europe.
More than 2 billion euros have been collected via our applications. We still offer our flagship solution, the online donation platform, but also peer-to-peer solutions, crowdfunding and a CRM solution. We work with all kinds of organisations: from the Louvre to religious dioceses, and from medical research with Brain Institute to philanthropic intermediaries like the Fondation de France and of course, international NGOs like the Red Cross.
The real added value of iRaiser lies in our ability to put in place the infrastructure to manage all flows of money and to take all sorts of payment methods.
To make the act of donation as easy as possible and in order to increase the amount of this donation. Thanks to our applications equipped with artificial intelligence, the amount of donations collected increases on average by 15%.
Impact Partners gave us access to a network of experts.
They brought us new skills and allowed us to think about our future strategy. Impact Partners also provided us the opportunity to expand in Europe. Their investment in our company enabled us to grow—both through the acquisition of competing solutions and by facilitating our organic growth in Italy and the United Kingdom.
Today, iRaiser is a suite of innovative fundraising solutions that make it possible to democratise the act of giving for all types of donors.
In seven European countries as well as internationally. Our next goal is to open a new European market.
